This class includes parent-baby postures and massage techniques designed to promote bonding with each other and bring a sense of calm to the baby. Unlike other yoga classes that tend to be a bit more “serious,” feel free to stop your practice to change a diaper, get some water, nurse, etc. Best for children under 1 year old. No yoga experience is necessary. Mats will be provided. There’s something for everyone in this class! Please note, you will register your child for this class.

Join us for some music, bubbles, and stories!! We will also leave plenty of free time for families to hang out and get to know each other. This class will be led by Jen Radosh, Bender JCC’s J Family Programs Director. Jen has over a decade of experience creating and teaching programs, events, classes, and playdates for families with children ages 0–5. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health, bringing both expertise and heart to every class she leads.

Crafty Tots is a multi-sensory experience designed for our littlest artists. Each class begins with story time to spark imagination and inspire the arts and crafts project. Caregivers will participate alongside their child, making it a special bonding experience filled with mess, imagination, and lots of smiles. Each class also includes free time at the end for children to connect, move around, and get their wiggles out in our fun play space.

Music helps to anchor a child’s cultural identity. Rhythm ‘N’ Ruach high energy music and movement to encourage joyful Jewish learning. Ideal for children ages 0 – 4 years old, this program encourages children and their loved ones to participate in the music with real instrument and yoga poses, creating an inspirational and educational experience. Caregivers will be required to stay for the entirety of the program.

This in-person workshop features resources, strategies, and tools to foster civil discourse and navigate challenging topics, such as antisemitism. Engaging in civil discourse means bringing your mind, heart, and conscience to reflective conversations on topics that matter, in ways that allow you to extend your understanding while in dialogue with others. Utilizing the Fostering Civil Discourse Guide, participants will learn about Facing History’s pedagogical approach, practice teaching strategies for creating a "brave and safe space" for critical and courageous conversations, and explore the importance of identity and its connection to discussing complex and challenging topics. Sessions will include modeling how to apply these strategies and resources to address the growth of antisemitism in our schools. Participants will: - Learn about strategies and materials designed to foster civil discourse and navigate challenging conversations in the classroom - Explore resources that prepare educators to teach about current events - Have an opportunity to discuss and practice strategies with other educators in addressing complex and challenging topics. This offering is for: Educators teaching 6th–12th grade who want to incorporate tools and strategies designed to help teachers hold meaningful and productive conversations with their students about public policies, controversial issues, and current events. It is also relevant for school and district curriculum specialists and instructional coaches who may be working with educators doing this work. Format: This event will be held in person in Rosslyn, VA. Join us as we prepare the grounds for our RainScape! A RainScape is a landscape design technique that helps reduce stormwater runoff. Since we are located next to Rock Creek we want to prevent stormwater and pollution from flowing into storm drains and the nearby stream. In the fall, we will be bringing our vision to life by planting various native plant species that will help trap the water runoff from the roof and let it soak into the ground instead of flowing into the parking lot and down the hill into the creek. But in order to be successful in the fall, we need to prepare the ground now in the spring! We will be spreading a thin layer of compost and then a thicker layer of woodchips on top. By the time we're ready to plant this fall, the ground will be well prepared, and our chances of success will be that much greater. Come out this Sunday (4/12) for some gardening and good cheer :) Garden rakes and equipment will be provided, but bring your own if you feel inclined. This event will start at 9am and go until 1pm. Look for us in the front parking lot next to the playground!

Join a Song Cirlce of Yiddish Folk Music at Am Kolel's Center & on Zoom. The Circle will be led by Frieda Enoch and Reb David. Born in Poland to Holocaust survivors, Frieda Enoch is well known in the Washington area as a Yiddish folk singer and performer. Frieda has served as the director of the Bender JCC’s Coming of Age adult engagement program for 20 years. She lives in North Potomac with her husband.
