Rebuilding Through Education
When families were displaced by the war, Dror Israel’s educational programs helped create stability and routine for children and parents. Programs operated in hotels and evacuation centers, providing safe spaces for learning, connection, and community.

HaGal Sheli uses surfing as a tool for youth to process trauma related to October 7.
Healing from Trauma
For young people uprooted by October 7, healing required more than returning to everyday life. HaGal Sheli adapted its surf-based therapy model in the first week of the war, combining physical activity with structured emotional processing to help evacuated youth process trauma, build resilience, and reduce the risk of long-term post-traumatic stress.

After losing students on October 7, teacher Omer Rafaeli founded Balance Gvulot, a resilience-based fitness and community studio on Kibbutz Gvulot to help his community rebuild together.
Rebuilding Communities
For communities in northern and southern Israel, returning home is only the beginning. JDC Elka is helping local leaders plan for long-term recovery—strengthening local economies, health systems, tourism, and infrastructure while coordinating government, municipalities, civil society, and philanthropy around the region’s future.

Microgrants to Mark October 7
As the third anniversary of the October 7 attack approaches, Federation is offering microgrants of up to $1,000 to help local Jewish organizations create meaningful opportunities for remembrance, reflection, learning, and community connection.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so organizations are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
Responding in real time, Federation partners with The Jewish Agency for Israel to deliver urgent support, strengthen communities, and mobilize global Jewish solidarity amid crisis and recovery.
