The Network

As a hub of business, diplomacy, and thought leadership, what happens in Washington, DC matters — on both a national and global scale. Given the Jewish community’s pivotal role in this influence, the Network provides a space for professionals to come together and exchange ideas on a myriad of important topics. Through this, we aim to emphasize the vital role that business professionals play in ensuring a strong and vibrant Jewish future.

No matter your profession, the Network is the perfect platform to meet and engage with like-minded individuals through meaningful and innovative programs, events, and leadership opportunities. Under the direction of The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, the Network helps to ensure that the Jewish community will continue to thrive and propel the Greater Washington area forward.

Lawyers Division

The Lawyers Division of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington’s Network is committed to bringing together Jewish legal professionals in the DMV for unique networking, programmatic, and learning opportunities. The Lawyers Division convenes lawyers, judges, political leaders, and business professionals. Participants meet new people in these areas and exchange perspectives on the law and the business of law. We also learn about the impact that lawyers and lawyering skills have, and can have, in our community, including exposure to opportunities to serve those in need through Jewish community-organized legal service non-profit groups such as Tzedek DC.

Through strategic programming we will ensure a multi-generational connection within this group, linking senior professionals with entry to mid-level professionals, while creating a pipeline of community leadership for the next generation of Jewish leaders and professionals. Ultimately, this group will gain a further understanding of the important role that Federation plays in the community and the power of their philanthropic dollars in creating and maintaining a vibrant Jewish community in Greater Washington.

Real Estate

In DC, MD, and Northern VA, Jewish real estate professionals are at the apex of community-oriented philanthropic leadership. Network’s Real Estate Division is the multi-generational hub for commercial real estate, construction, and design professionals who are passionate about the Jewish community. Its goal is to provide a platform for industry leaders to share their passion and dedication for our community with a new generation of innovators, empowering the leaders of tomorrow to join them in taking an active role in shaping the future of our community. Together, we will build on the collective mentality that the Jewish real estate community has played a vital role in building and growing Jewish Greater Washington and showcase the impact that investing in Federation has on its continued growth.

Thank you to everyone who attended our recent breakfast at the Capital Jewish Museum! We extend a special thanks to Debby Ratner Salzberg (Uplands) and Andy Altman (Fivesquares) of Mayor Bowser’s Gallery Place/Chinatown Task Force for their exciting presentation on the future of DC’s Chinatown neighborhood. Attendees also had exclusive pre-opening access to the museum’s deli exhibition, I’ll Have What She’s Having.

In November 2023, we hosted a panel discussion at DC’s Western Market with industry leaders Kim Stein (KLNB), Matthew Robinson (MRP), and Ben Friedman (Son Of A Fish) on the evolving trends, challenges, and successes at the intersection of real estate and the food industry. We explored how developments are creatively incorporating food retail to activate underutilized spaces and add value to our communities, breathing life into our urban fabric.
