Meet Alexa: Federation’s Jewish Teen Engagement Fellow!

Meet Alexa: Federation’s Jewish Teen Engagement Fellow!

Alexa is a senior at Thomas S. Wootton High School, and an active member of BBYO. She’s a proud member of Besheret BBG #2455. As a BBYO superstar, she served as DC Council Sh’licha (VP of Community Service, Jewish Heritage, and Social Action). Now, Alexa is thrilled to join the team at Federation as the Jewish Teen Engagement Fellow. She’ll be working on creating and developing new programs geared towards helping teens feel more connected to the Jewish community, and their own Jewish identities.

Alexa is committed to building new ways to engage Jewish teens, as well as opening up opportunities that will make an ongoing impact on their lives. She’s passionate about helping people in the special needs community, BBYO, Israel, and being Jewish! On top of all of that, you can often find Alexa listening to country music and being with her family and friends.

Welcome, Alexa! If you’re interested in learning more about opportunities for Jewish teen leadership, youth groups, community service opportunities or just want to chat, reach out to Alexa at alexa.herman@shalomdc.org.
