Attending summer camp is a rite of passage for many children – one that, through shared experiences, builds community and shapes identities. But for individuals with disabilities, summer camp is often a missed milestone. That’s why it was especially meaningful for this group of adults, residents of Jewish Foundation for Group Homes, to experience the joys of camp for the first time.
Made possible through a matching grant from Federation’s United Jewish Endowment Fund and a generous donation from Ron and Margie Glancz, a full support staff and accessible accommodations at Capital Camps allowed these adults to immerse themselves in all of the fun and excitement camp has to offer, enhance their Jewish identities and create memories to last a lifetime.
