CEO, Gil Preuss, Speaks with Fox 5 DC Following Deadly Shooting in Jersey City

Events like this remind us that we must maintain heightened awareness and vigilance. In partnership with the Secure Community Network (SCN), Federation remains committed to the safety and security of our community. We strongly encourage every Jewish organization to undertake a security risk assessment of their safety and security preparedness. Individual community members should speak to the leaders of your synagogues and other frequented Jewish institutions to ensure they have a plan for what to do and how to respond in the event of an attack. Organizations should ensure that their security and emergency response plans are current and coordinated with local first responders. Members and staff should be briefed on those plans, and plans should be exercised or drilled where possible. If plans call for increased security presence or access control measures, now is the time to identify the resources needed to implement those measures.
