A Memorable Night of Community and Leadership

A Memorable Night of Community and Leadership

Each time our community gathers, it provides me with energy and optimism for the future of our community. This was especially true last night when more than 200 of Greater Washington’s Jewish leaders came together to celebrate our communal agencies at Federation’s 2023 Annual Meeting.

Last night was a culminating moment for many of us as we toasted to our shared accomplishments and the dynamic, passionate leadership of our agencies, lay leaders, and donors. I look forward to all that we will continue to achieve together in the upcoming year.

I encourage you to watch and share our video tribute to some of our incredible local agencies.

I want to thank our outgoing Board President, Sam Kaplan, for his meaningful contributions to Federation and our community over the last two years. Sam’s out-of-the-box thinking helped to further solidify the ecosystem of Jewish organizations in our community and move Jewish Greater Washington forward in creative ways.

I would also like to officially welcome our newest cohort of leaders to our Board of Directors, led by our incoming Board President, Robin Hettleman Weinberg. The breadth of experience and perspectives of the incoming board reflects the broad views, passions, and identities of our community, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with each of them.

As we look forward, we do not know the challenges that we will face. I do know, however, that we will seek to address every challenge and opportunity that arises with deep commitment, open minds, a sense of humility, and an understanding that we will be more successful by tackling these challenges together.

I am honored and privileged to do this important work alongside you. Thank you!

Shabbat Shalom,

Gil
