We are called to act—for Israel and for our community here at home.

Why Now

In Israel, families are sheltering from an unrelenting wave of missile strikes. Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva was hit, forcing patients and staff into protected areas and shutting down vital medical services. Children have been killed. Homes abandoned. Communities uprooted. The trauma of October 7 reverberates in every siren, every shelter, every sleepless night.

And still, our Israeli family remains resolute.

Here at home, painful realities persist. Two young peacebuilders were murdered outside the Capital Jewish Museum. In Boulder, demonstrators were targeted with a firebomb. These are not isolated incidents—they are reminders that Jewish safety and solidarity must be actively protected.

What we’re making possible—together

In Israel:

• Trauma care and mental health support to those directly impacted
• Shelter upgrades for thousands of evacuees in the Kinneret Valley Cluster (KVC) through partnerships with local leaders—including Arab and Druze communities
• Engaging at-risk teens to restore comfort, dignity, and connection for displaced families

Here at home, through JShield, our community security initiative:

• Expert-led emergency planning, physical safeguards, and hands-on security training
• Support for synagogues, schools, and Jewish gathering places across Greater Washington
• Building resilience and confidence so Jewish life can flourish, openly and securely
