About Dr. Aza Nedhari, DHS, CPM, LPC

President & CEO, Mamatoto Village

Dr. Aza Nedhari is a mother, a visionary leader, an architect of change, and a relentless advocate for justice with more than two decades of experience in community health, perinatal wellness, and program innovation. As President, CEO, and Co-Founder of Mamatoto Village, a perinatal health organization headquartered in Washington, DC, she has dedicated her career to improving maternal and infant health outcomes, strengthening families, and building community-driven care models that are proven and replicable.

A Certified Professional Midwife and Licensed Professional Counselor, Dr. Nedhari brings rare clinical depth and lived experience to executive leadership. Her work spans direct perinatal care, the design of scalable community health interventions, health technology development, and perinatal workforce development. She holds a Doctorate in Human Services with a concentration in Organizational Leadership and Management, and her research examines the sustainability and resiliency of Black-led social change organizations.

She is a sought-after speaker, strategist, and thought leader at the intersection of perinatal clinical care, workforce development, organizational leadership, and healing-centered practice. Guided by a bold vision for a liberated future, Dr. Nedhari leverages her expertise to cultivate leadership and create pathways toward healthier families, stronger communities, and a more just society.
