Federation x Makom Good Deeds Week

April 6, 2025 | 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Bringing Warmth to the Community During Good Deeds Week

The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and core agency partner, Makom, are proud to team up with Project Linus for a special day of service during Good Deeds Week.

Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) is a central Jewish value that guides our work to build and sustain a vibrant Jewish community. As a Federation donor, you help make this happen every day.

On April 6th, in celebration of International Good Deeds Day, a global movement to do good, we are inviting you to see your impact in action and join us in making a difference. Together, we will create cozy blankets for children facing severe illness and trauma, as well as those experiencing homelessness in the Greater Washington area. This hands-on project is a chance to give back, connect with others, and embody the spirit of doing good.

Sunday, April 6th | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington
Conference Center, First Floor
6101 Executive Blvd., North Bethesda, MD 20852

Pre-registration is required. Registration closes on April 3rd.
Light refreshments to be served.
Please note that this is not a family event.

Bringing Warmth to the Community During Good Deeds Week

Makom, one of Federation’s core partner agencies, aims to support and empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve the quality of life to which they aspire.

Project Linus is a nationwide effort that provides love, a sense of security, warmth, and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through handcrafted blankets. In 2024, the Montgomery County Chapter of Project Linus donated handcrafted blankets to four area hospitals (Children’s, Holy Cross, Shady Grove, and Walter Reed), four area shelters, the American Red Cross, DC Diaper Bank, Head Start, MoCo Department of Social Services, the Ronald McDonald House, and more.
