I write to you as I conclude my visit across southern Israel and begin traveling north. Over the past day, I’ve met with members of kibbutzim that were invaded on October 7th and visited the memorials at the Nova Festival site and the “burned cars cemetery.”
Through every visit and conversation, I’ve been struck by the resilience of the people here. I’ve asked many of them what they’d want to share with our Greater Washington community, and their messages are clear: to see their reality, amplify their voices, and hold on to hope.
Putting what I’ve seen into words isn’t always easy, but it’s an honor to represent and bear witness on behalf of our community. I’ve filmed some of my experiences so far to share with you:
