Women’s Philanthropy Giving Levels
The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington’s Women’s Philanthropy (WP) division seeks to connect women in our community through shared values and a mutual desire to improve the life of Jews locally and abroad. We work with women to raise funds, create community, provide leadership, organize meaningful programmatic opportunities and help steward Federation’s impact on our community.
Join us to play an essential role in advocating for social justice, healing the sick, feeding the hungry, preserving human dignity and building Jewish identity. By being part of WP, you contribute to the continued vibrancy of our Jewish community and the Jewish people.
Step Up: $365 – $1,799
Step Up encourages women to celebrate their commitment to philanthropy, affirm their Jewish identity and share in their dedication to improve the community. You can “Step Up” by giving $365+ in your own name to the annual campaign.
Pomegranate: $1,800 – $4,999
Pomegranates are a select group of philanthropists who give a gift of $1,800–$4,999 to the annual campaign. Pomegranates are role models in our community, guided by Jewish values of tzedakah (charity) and tikkun olam (repairing the world). They demonstrate a strong commitment to making a positive impact on Jewish life.
Lion of Judah: $5,000+
Lions are dynamic, philanthropic Jewish women dedicated to the continuity and thriving future of our Jewish peoplehood. Lions symbolize the strength of Jewish women to improve the world with a financial commitment in their own name of $5,000 (Diamond), $10,000 (Ruby), $18,000 (Sapphire), $25,000 (Emerald) or more to the annual campaign. Over 17,500 women worldwide wear the Lion of Judah pin as they promote social justice, heal the sick, feed the hungry, preserve human dignity and build Jewish identity.
Lion of Judah Endowment
The Lion of Judah Endowment helps a Lion of Judah create an ongoing legacy during her lifetime, ensuring that her commitment to support Jewish communal life will continue for generations. As of May 2017, more than 3,800 women have endowed the gifts representing over $620 million in assets. You can choose to endow your Lion of Judah donation to ensure that an annual gift is made in your name for generations to come.
