ORA (FORMERLY YOUNG WOMEN’S COALITION)
Ora is a community of women in our 30’s, 40’s and 50’s dedicated to connecting through conversation and learning to help strengthen ourselves, our families and our community. Join Ora’s monthly Coffee (or Cocktails) & Conversations sessions and other exclusive events to learn about Federation’s local and overseas work, and to discuss the critical issues affecting our families and community. Together we are creating a more vibrant Jewish future.
Informed by the value of tikkun olam (repairing the world), Mitzvah Mavens—a group of extraordinary women who span multiple generations—volunteer to make a difference in our community. In the past, among its many projects, Mitzvah Mavens have packed food for hungry kids, hosted a Holocaust survivors luncheon and made Mother’s Day baskets for domestic abuse survivors. With four social action opportunities throughout the year, we invite you to join us for one or all! (Check here for upcoming Mitzvah Mavens events.)
The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington offers many opportunities to make a difference and build community: events exclusive to women, programs for families with young children, opportunities to volunteer, chances to explore modern Jewish food, transformative overseas missions to learn about Jewish communities abroad, and experiences that help us connect with Israel and the local Jewish community.
