Easy Ways to Brighten Our Community
You make all the difference. When you support The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, you empower an open, connected, and vibrant Jewish community. Together, we strengthen and sustain Jewish life and address critical needs locally and around the world.
Please consider making a gift to Federation’s Annual Campaign. Now more than ever, your generosity will make a tremendous impact.

Make a gift of appreciated stock for tax savings before December 15th.* Transfer instructions can be found here.
Make a distribution from your Donor Advised Fund.** Jewish Community Foundation DAF holders can request grants through the Donor Dashboard.
If you are over age 70 ½, contribute directly from your IRA for an additional tax benefit. *** To learn more, contact Elizabeth Goldstein at [email protected] or 301-230-7228.
Important Notes:
*Please initiate your gift of stock to Federation as soon as possible. The date of your gift and gift receipt are determined by the day your stock reaches Federation’s brokerage account, not when you initiate the transfer. We strongly recommend that you request all stock transfers before December 15th, to maximize the chance that we receive the stock in time for a 2023 tax deduction. The gift value for tax purposes is determined by the average of the high and low prices on the day the investment is received in Federation’s brokerage account.
**This year, through the Foundation’s Donor Advised Fund Partner Agency Matching Program, when you make a new or increased donation of $2,500 to $15,000 to a local agency or agencies of your choice through a Foundation DAF, your gift will be jointly matched by the Foundation and The Jewish Federation.
*** Charitable rollovers from IRAs may not be put into Donor Advised Funds.
