“[Federation is] connecting the next generation. If we don’t support it, who will?”

Connecting and engaging are at the heart of why Rachel chooses to give to Federation and knows this is “a critical part of how our community will continue to thrive, year after year, decade after decade.”

Growing up on Long Island, New York, Rachel found herself continually surrounded by the Jewish community, from sleepaway camp to synagogue, and says, “Jewish values were at the core of our home.”

Now, Rachel is passionate about forging relationships between young Jewish professionals in the Greater Washington area, where she has chosen to call home. She has taken on the role as the Volunteer Co-Chair of Federation’s Next Gen because she believes that “Federation is the hub of all things innovation when it comes to the needs of our international Jewish community – their reach is far beyond imaginable, with relationships all over the globe.”

Rachel hopes in a world fraught by an ever-changing landscape, that the Jewish community will continue to flourish and evolve, and that “through connection and education, vibrant Jewish life now and into the future can be our reality.”
