Rachel and Pete are transformational supporters of the Jewish community in Greater Washington, with a particular focus on young families, Jewish education, and support for Israel.
Pete has served on the Board of Trustees at Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School since 2017 and currently holds the role of Board President. His contributions include co-chairing Milton’s Annual Campaign and participating on the Head of School Search Committee. Pete is also a Board Member of The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, a Trustee of the Jewish Community Foundation, and an alumnus of both the JFNA National Young Leadership Cabinet and the Wexner Heritage Program.
Rachel has held a number of leadership roles in our local Jewish community. She currently serves as a Vice President at Congregation B’nai Tzedek, a board member of Friends of the IDF, committee member for The Ronald S. Lauder Impact Initiative, and chair of an allocations working group at The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington focused on young families. In the past Rachel proudly co-chaired the Milton Parents Association and Ambassadors program, chaired Congregation Beth El’s Preschool Board, and co-chaired Federation’s Young Women’s Coalition when it was brought back to our community to engage a new generation of Next Gen women.
Together, Pete and Rachel co-chaired Federation’s Israel@70 celebration, a prominent program bringing hundreds of local community members together for meaningful opportunities to learn about, engage with and enhance our connection to Israel and Milton’s Endowment Campaign. Their dedication was recognized with Federation’s Jerome J. Dick Young Leadership Award Additionally, in collaboration with Sophie and Brad Buslik, Pete and Rachel led the fundraising efforts for Federation’s Israel Crisis Relief Fund, specifically targeting donors under 40 years old.
Professionally, Pete is the Chief Operating Officer of Nellis Corporation, a private capital management firm, and a graduate of NYU’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. Rachel earned her BA from NYU and her Master’s from Teachers College at Columbia University. Before starting a family, she worked as a guidance counselor.
Rachel and Pete live in Bethesda, MD, with their two children, David and Lila.
