The course is designed to create a community of learners including individuals and couples from Jewish and/or various faith traditions and cultural backgrounds, those who have had no religious upbringing and those who want a meaningful adult Jewish learning experience.

Join the Bender JCC and the Capital Jewish Museum for a hands-on workshop where you’ll curate your own family museum. Learn creative ways to preserve and share your legacy using photographs, heirlooms, and family stories. Whether you’re organizing history for your children and grandchildren or reconnecting with your roots, this program offers simple, meaningful tools to honor the people, moments, and memories that shaped who you are. Join us for DC Advocacy Day on Wednesday, April 22 to lobby for budget and policy priorities of the District's Jewish community. The day begins with an issue briefing and breakfast, followed by meetings with DC Councilmembers to lobby for a range of issues, including the continuation of a nonprofit security grant program to protect institutions at risk of hate crimes. We will also advocate in support of preserving funds for preschool teachers' salaries (the Early Childhood Pay Equity Fund), combating antisemitism and expanding access to affordable housing. Our Advocacy Day will take place shortly after DC’s draft Fiscal Year 2027 budget is expected to be introduced. As such, our voices will be heard at the most impactful point of the legislative process. Register by Friday, April 10. All who sign up will be invited to participate in a virtual briefing, Wednesday, April 15, 7:00 PM to prepare for DC Advocacy Day. SVIVAH is gathering on Wednesday to mark and celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut — Israel’s Independence Day. We know Israel is complicated. We know this day is complicated. We also know — Israel means a lot to us. There are big feelings as we celebrate this year’s Israel Independence Day. Join us to take a moment to celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut. To honor what Israel means to us. Bring your lunch, your breakfast, something that makes you feel like celebrating. There will be music, prayer, poetry, meaning, and an opportunity to dance if you’re so moved. (pun intended!)

An Israeli market that will consist of various stations to decorate Hamasa, make bracelets and such, plus falafel and a lecture for adults, and finally Hora dances.

Join Bayit, the EDCJCC's young adult Israeli/Israeli-American Cluster to celebrate Yom Ha'atzmaut! This program will feature a special performance by the HaKol Jewish community choir, fun activities, live music, Israeli food, and more.

Beginning Wednesday, January 21 at 7:00 PM, Introduction to Judaism offers an 18-week journey into Jewish beliefs, holidays, texts, history, and culture. Ideal for interfaith couples, spiritual seekers, those exploring conversion, and anyone eager to deepen their Jewish learning.
