Doing Good with Mitzvah Mavens

January 7, 2018 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Doing Good with Mitzvah Mavens

The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and the Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA) invite you to Do Good with an intergenerational community of women who support and learn from one another and share a commitment to tikkun olam (repairing the world).

We will be joined by Tom Liniak, Director of Specialized Employment at JSSA, who will share the program’s successes in working with businesses in the community to match JSSA clients with work opportunities. He will be teaching us what we can do to help the program grow and make new employment connections for their clients.

We will also hear from Lisa Handelman, The Jewish Federation’s Community Disability Inclusion Specialist, who will explain upcoming legislative issues that directly impact individuals with disabilities, and will lead us in a letter-writing campaign urging representatives to vote against H.R. 620 as part of Jewish Disability Advocacy Day.

Please bring fidgets (self-regulating tools that enhance learning) to be donated to the Jewish Federation’s Inclusion Program. Examples of fidgets include Pull and Stretch Balls, Koosh Balls and Water Wigglies.
