SUMMARY:Everything But The Turkey: Teens Edition
DESCRIPTION:Join hundreds of other volunteers for our signature volunteer event\, Everything But The Turkey (EBTT). Volunteers will prepare Thanksgiving-themed side dishes for those experiencing hunger and homelessness in our region—we’ll make Everything But The Turkey! Our program partners at DC Central Kitchen then add turkeys and distribute the meals to partner agencies including homeless shelters\, schools\, and more. Join the Youth Action Institute’s EBTT table and spend time making collard greens with other teens. \nMake new friends and earn 2 SSL hours through this program. We invite parents to volunteer as well but to choose a different table. \nRegistration is required for this program\, and we expect it to fill up quickly! Please list “Federation” as your affiliate on your registration. \nPlease note that we request a tax-deductible donation of $20 per person to cover the costs of this program in order to ensure that we are able to purchase high-quality ingredients. Check out our FAQ at edcjcc.org/ebtt or contact Mira Smith with any additional questions\, including if cost poses a barrier to participation. \nPresented by Edlavitch DCJCC in partnership with The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington

SUMMARY:Everything But The Turkey: Community Edition
DESCRIPTION:Join hundreds of volunteers to spend the evening preparing Thanksgiving side dishes for those experiencing hunger and homelessness in our region – we’ll make Everything But The Turkey! Our program partners at DC Central Kitchen then add turkeys and distribute the meals to homeless shelters\, transitional housing facilities\, and other social service agencies in the District. Each table fits 8 people and no cooking experience is necessary. There are no age restrictions on participating\, but we do not recommend the Kickin’ Coleslaw\, Yummy Yams\, or Apple Crumble recipes for younger children because they involve using knives\, peelers\, and graters. \nPlease note that we request a tax-deductible donation of $22 per person to cover the costs of this program in order to ensure that we are able to purchase high-quality ingredients. \nPlease list “Federation” as your affiliate on your registration. \nCheck out our FAQ at edcjcc.org/ebtt or contact Mira Smith with any additional questions\, including if cost poses a barrier to participation. \nPresented by Edlavitch DCJCC in partnership with The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington
