SUMMARY:Nova Music Festival Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The Nova Music Festival Exhibition is a powerful\, immersive experience that tells the story of the October 7 attack in Israel and the “Tribe of Nova”—a community that came together for music\, joy\, and peace\, only to face unimaginable terror when Hamas launched its brutal assault.  \nThrough striking visuals\, survivor testimonies\, and personal artifacts\, the exhibit honors those we lost and invites all of us to bear witness.  \nIn light of the tragic shooting outside the Capital Jewish Museum\, this moment—and the need to confront violence and stand together—feels even more urgent.  \nExhibition Details\nSaturday\, June 14 – Sunday\, July 6\nSaturday–Thursday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM\nFriday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM \nGallery Place (713 7th Street NW\, Washington\, DC) \nFederation Day at the Nova Exhibition\, Tuesday\, July 1\nOne day. One community. One powerful truth. \nA powerful opportunity for our Greater Washington Jewish community to show up with intention\, in solidarity\, and alongside one another. More than just a visit\, this is a moment to stand together: to honor memory\, affirm our shared values\, and offer collective strength in the face of unspeakable pain. Together\, we’ll bear witness and lift one another through presence and purpose. \nThe logistics remain the same (timed tickets and individual entry)\, but the experience of being there together offers the strength of shared presence\, reflection\, and connection. \nWe are deeply grateful to the generous donors who made it possible to bring this powerful exhibit to Greater Washington. Their support reflects the heart of the Federation’s mission: creating space for our community to gather\, reflect\, and bear witness; fostering understanding through education; and ensuring we remember—together. \nWith appreciation\, we recognize:\nThe Morningstar Foundation\nThe Marcus Foundation\, Inc.\nCharles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation\nHarris Philanthropies\nAlan and Amy Meltzer and Family\nBender Foundation\, Inc.\nGavin and Monica Abrams\nThe Copeland Family\nEthan and Karen Leder\nLerner-Cohen-Tanenbaum Families\nMark Clein\nLeana and Marc Katz\nLauren and Gene Sachs  \nFAQs\nWhat is the Nova Exhibit? The Nova Music Festival Exhibit is a moving\, immersive experience that tells the story of the October 7 attack in Israel and the “Tribe of Nova”. The immersive installation sets out to recreate an event dedicated to peace and love that was brutally cut short by Hamas’s attack on Israel from Gaza on that fateful day. Through powerful visuals\, survivor testimonies\, and personal artifacts\, it honors the lives lost and invites visitors to bear witness. More information is available at novaexhibition.com. \nWho created and manages the exhibit? The Tribe of Nova is fully responsible for the exhibit’s content\, logistics\, and operations. Our role has been to provide critical funding\, raise awareness\, and help ensure the community has meaningful opportunities to engage. \nHow can I attend? General admission tickets and special event details will be available at novaexhibition.com (you’ll see Toronto information up there now). \nIs this exhibit appropriate for everyone? The content is emotional and intense\, but powerful. It’s designed for adults and older teens. Whether someone is closely connected to the Jewish or Israeli community or not\, the exhibit offers a moving opportunity to reflect on freedom\, resilience\, and humanity. \nHow is Federation involved? The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington helped raise the funds to make the exhibit possible in Greater Washington. We’re also using this moment to elevate community voices\, deepen understanding\, and strengthen connections across Jewish and civic life. \nHow can I support this effort or the Federation’s ongoing work? We are still raising funds to support the exhibit and our broader efforts in crisis response\, trauma recovery\, and building community resilience. If you’d like to explore a gift\, we’d be honored to connect you with one of our team members. \nHow long will the exhibit be in DC? The Nova Exhibit typically closes on Mondays. Given the short timeline\, it will be open seven days a week\, including Saturdays. In observance of Shabbat\, the exhibit will close early on Fridays. \nWhen will the delegation be at the exhibit? There will be two delegations\, each including approximately five survivors and family members\, who will be present at the exhibit. Some testimonies will be pre-scheduled as part of the Nova Voices of Resilience campaign\, while others may be shared spontaneously. Each delegation will be accompanied by a therapist. \nWhat is the cost to attend the exhibit? General admission is $18 per person. To arrange a visit that includes survivor testimony\, the cost is $54. \nWhat is the security plan? The Nova Exhibition implements thorough security measures to ensure visitor safety. Please visit novaexhibition.com for more information. \nWill I be able to purchase food and beverages? Bringing outside food or drinks into the exhibit areas is prohibited. Visitors are encouraged to plan accordingly and dine before or after their visit. \nIs the exhibit ADA-accessible? Yes\, the Nova Exhibition venue is accessible and accommodates visitors with disabilities. \nI am a member of the media. Who is my point of contact? For press inquiries or to feature the exhibition\, contact nova@thetarogroup.com. An on-site media center is available for content creators\, podcasters\, and invited media to host interviews and reflect on the exhibit. SUMMARY:Creating Belonging in a Time of Surge - Jewish Federations of North America
DESCRIPTION:Join Jewish Federations of North America for a powerful conversation on how Jewish communities can better foster belonging for historically marginalized Jews—especially as new data shows the post-10/7 “Surge” in engagement is fading faster among these groups. \nThe event will begin with a presentation of the latest findings from Jewish Federations of North America\, highlighting sharp declines in engagement among LGBTQ+ Jews\, Jews of Color\, financially vulnerable Jews\, and Jews with disabilities. Then\, JFNA’s Center for Jewish Belonging will share best practices for building inclusive and welcoming spaces. The session will conclude with a facilitated discussion and idea exchange to help communities take meaningful action.

SUMMARY:A Letter to David Documentary Viewing
DESCRIPTION:Filmmaker Tom Shoval crafts a personal cinematic letter to David Cunio\, who was abducted by Hamas from Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7\, 2023\, and has been held hostage in Gaza ever since. \nTen years ago\, David and his twin brother Eitan starred in Shoval’s award-winning debut feature film Youth (Berlinale 2013)\, which focused on the powerful bond between brothers and\, in a tragic and unimaginable twist of fate\, revolved around a kidnapping. \nThrough unedited behind-the-scenes footage and audition tapes from Youth\, Shoval builds a multi-layered documentary that explores the inexplicable connections between life and cinema\, memory and reality\, and the catastrophic consequences of war. \nA portion of proceeds received by this film will be donated to the Cunio Family\, supporting their ongoing struggle.
