We will trace a journey from the absolute rule of biblical kings to the intellectual ‘republic’ of the rabbis\, examining how Jewish tradition built a system where no leader is above the law. By uncovering the Jewish voice of dissent\, from ancient prophets to Talmudic sages\, we will see how our tradition dismantled the concept of the absolute autocrat in favor of a community governed by law and debate. \nNo experience necessary.
