Joining us will be Isabel Bauer-Langsdorf\, one of the children she saved\, along with her daughter Julie Langsdorf\, offering living testimony to the power of moral courage. \nAn evening where music and memory meet in sacred tribute. SUMMARY:Seeing Color in Classical Art
DESCRIPTION:Seeing Color in Classical Art \nJennifer Stager – Johns Hopkins University \nAncient Mediterranean art and architecture that have survived over the centuries present the modern viewer with images of white. Recent research and scholarship have overturned this visual aspect. \nThere is now a consensus that sculpture and similar artifacts produced in the ancient Mediterranean world\, were\, in fact\, multi-colored. Dr. Stager will examine the traces of color in a variety of media and recreate what the ancients would have witnessed.
