Rachel Goldschmidt lives in Washington DC. She moved there in 2016 to be closer to family, to be able to live more independently, and to have chances to meet other people. She currently works as a floater/substitute assistant teacher in the preschool at the Edlavitch DC JCC.

In addition to her work, Rachel volunteers with Dreams for Kids DC, which offers adaptive clinics and workshops for individuals from childhood through adulthood. She participates in their Path to Success program which pairs mentors with mentees who have disabilities, helping them learn employment skills. She has been a mentor for a few years and recently received the Dreams for Kids 2021 Volunteer of the Year award.

She is an avid social Ballroom/Latin dancer and looks forward to the end of the pandemic so she can get back to Cha Cha and Swing!
