With Passover approaching, we are reminded of its timeless relevance—a season of reflection that evolves with each year, shaped by the challenges and hopes of the moment. That’s what makes the holiday so powerful: it continues to speak to us in ways that resonate deeply with our lives, our struggles, and our dreams for the future.
Since October 7, the message of Passover holds even deeper meaning. While we celebrate our ancestors’ journey to freedom, we are reminded that the struggle for freedom is not just ancient history—it is painfully present. The urgent need to demand the release of the 59 hostages still held by Hamas remains a call for justice and a source of deep anguish for their families, our community, and all who yearn their safe return home.
Closer to home, we are also navigating uncertainty. With the impact of federal layoffs affecting so many in our region, we are reminded of the weight of the challenges we face together. But it’s in these moments that our community’s strength shines brightest. In our collective efforts to uplift each other, we offer one another hope, relief, and a sense of shared resilience—the reassurance that we can continue to thrive in the face of any challenge.
As we gather around the Passover table, let us reflect on our shared responsibility to support one another and our commitment to justice, freedom, and the well-being of all people. Just as we open our doors to others during this holiday, let us also invite their voices to help amplify the causes we hold dear.
True freedom is not simply the absence of oppression, but the strength we find in standing together. Wishing you a meaningful, peaceful, and hope-filled Passover.
