Federation’s UJEF connects philanthropists with opportunities to meet Jewish needs and tikkun olam – repairing the world. Through a variety of philanthropic vehicles and by acting as philanthropic advisers and connectors, UJEF encourages investment in, and action towards, the betterment of our world. Learn more about the many initiatives funded by Federation’s UJEF that strengthen and advance Jewish life in the Greater Washington area, in Israel and around the world.

DSC_1259Federation’s Jewish Food Experience® unites people of all ages, backgrounds and levels of religious observance through the universal language of Jewish food. JFE® provides interactive on-and-off-line programming, complete with a robust website, food related events, social action opportunities and holiday celebrations to provide a wide array of low-barrier entry points into Greater Washington’s Jewish community.

 

 


RS2_4977PJ Library® sends a gift of free Jewish children’s books to families across our community every month. Through educational, creative and meaningful family programming, PJ Library inspires children to connect to Jewish life, strengthens Jewish values and builds a more vibrant Jewish community.

 

 


Honeymoon IsraelHoneymoon Israel life-changing, nine-day journey through Israel for young couples with at least one Jewish partner. Honeymoon Israel is a completely inclusive program— welcoming Jewish/Jewish, interfaith and LGBTQ couples. The highly subsidized trip, and local follow-up programming, creates a sense of Jewish community for couples and inspires them to incorporate Jewish values into their lives in whatever way works best for them.

 

 


food co opThe Food Co-ops are an innovative solution to food insecurity, bringing fresh produce and pantry items at below-market prices to those living in Israel’s periphery below the poverty line. The Food Co-ops also serve as a hub for community activities that build connections, empower individuals to become business owners and promote sustainable change for Israel’s geographic periphery.
