This Issue’s Highlights… This issue covers the months of April through June, and includes several Jewish holidays.
First comes Passover, which starts the evening of Monday, April 18.You will find lots of wonderful suggestions for Passover books in Curl UP and Read(CUR), which is prepared for JiFFY by the Partnership for Jewish Life and Learning. In our Family Fun and Tweens, Teens and More sections are some great Passover activities, including some volunteer opportunities for the entire family. And the puzzles and games in our Puzzles and Games section are a fun way to test your knowledge and learn more about the holiday.
This year Earth Day (April 22) falls during Passover.Follow the link in CUR for a listing of Earth Day activities, and do the Paper Hunt on our Puzzles and Games page to learn ways to “reduce, reuse and recycle” all year long.
Following closely on Passover are the modern Israeli holidays of Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day, which begins the evening of Saturday, April 30), Yom HaZikaron (Israel’s Memorial Day (evening of Sunday, May 7) and Yom Ha’Atzmaut (Israel Independence Day, which follows immediately upon Yom HaZikaron).
