At the core of Federation’s historic mandate is our responsibility to care for the vulnerable in our community and around the world.  Our programs provide critical services both on an ongoing basis and in emergency situations, here, in Israel and around the world.




Locally, Federation partners provide services including:

  • Sliding scale subsidies for social services
  • Crisis intervention and assistance
  • Emergency response/ disaster relief 
  • Support groups
  • Hunger relief programs
  • Community Assistance Fund

Overseas, Federation partners provide services including:

  • Training programs that advance economic self-sufficiency and self empowerment
  • Resettlement funding for new émigrés (JAFI) 
  • Educational and social support for Ethiopian Israelis
  • Around-the-globe social welfare assistance for vulnerable populations, especially in the former Soviet Union and Argentina
  • Immediate response to emergencies--local, national, or overseas-- affecting Jews or the Jewish community.
  • To better coordinate the services we provide worldwide, we partner with international organizations like:
         -     American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee  (rescue and relief)
         - Jewish Agency for Israel (support for Israeli émigrés and help for high-risk populations)
         - Ethiopian National Project  (assistance for the Ethiopian-Israeli community)
         - World ORT (education and vocational training)
         - United Jewish Communities 

Your Federation donation helps us care for those in dire need, including the elderly, poor, sick and those risking their lives to pursue freedom for their families and justice for future generations.  From a Jewish perspective, indeed from any perspective, these are the most highly valued ideals.
