Emergency Response

Thanks to your support, The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington distributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to our partner agencies for non-sectarian, humanitarian response to natural disasters and man-made emergencies. Most recently, we have responded to earthquakes in Japan (March, 2011) and Haiti (Jan, 2010) and the Carmel Fire in Israel (Dec, 2010). Learn more about the Jewish community’s response to global emergencies.

Countries in Africa are experiencing the worst drought in 60 years, resulting in extreme famine. Our partner agency, The Jewish Coalition for Disaster Relief, is accepting donations to help. To read more, or to donate, please click here.
