CamperQuest

Imagine your child as ...

An actor • a baseball player • a rock climber • a soccer star • an artist • a teacher • a scholar • a friend • a sailor • a singer • a hiker • a proud Jew

Imagine your child at camp.

Camp can be all of these things for your son or daughter and so much more. For thousands of youth each summer, overnight camp offers new experiences, new friendships, a way to build self-confidence, and opportunities to grow.

For these reasons, The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, the United Jewish Endowment Fund and the Foundation for Jewish Camp* want to help you give your son or daughter a lifetime of memories by providing him/her with a powerful Jewish summer experience at overnight camp.

Youth, currently in grades 2-7, living in the Greater Washington DC area who participate for the first-time at an approved Jewish educational overnight summer camp will be eligible to receive an incentive grant toward their tuition. For the 3 and 4 week camper application, first-time campers are defined as campers that have never attended a Jewish overnight camp or attended a Jewish overnight camp for less than 19 days previously. Funds will be forwarded directly to the camp and then the camp will reimburse you.

•Grants of $1,000 are available to children
        participating
in 3 and 4 week camp sessions.

•Grants of $250 are available to children

participating in 2 week camp sessions.

FAMILIES SHOULD APPLY TO CAMPS SEPARATELY AS SPOTS FILL UP QUICKLY.
PLEASE DO NOT WAIT TO BE INFORMED ABOUT YOUR GRANT BEFORE YOU APPLY TO CAMP.

CamperQuest is designed to engage children in Jewish life. Grants will be awarded to public or secular private school students. The Jewish Federation supports students in Jewish day schools with allocations directed to their school to offset tuition.

*The Foundation for Jewish Camp (FJC) is the only public organization dedicated solely to nonprofit Jewish overnight camps. FJC employs a variety of strategies toward a single goal: to increase the number of children in Jewish summer camps.  FJC works with more than 150 camps, 70,000 campers, and 10,000 counselors across North America to further its mission.
