Spotlight On: Summer of Service

Come join the Summer of Service!

President Obama has announced a summer initiative to encourage service in America and is calling on Americans of all ages to take some time this summer to make a difference in their communities.
Jconnect is here to help you find a meaningful project for yourself, your family, or your group. Together we can reach out and repair the world!

Service Opportunities throughout the Greater Washington area include:
• Spend time with frail seniors, help them with shopping, or deliver Kosher Meals on Wheels
• Celebrate Shabbat, take a walk, have a BBQ or just visit with Jewish Foundation for Group Homes residents
• Help beautify our parks by cleaning up and weeding invasive plants
• Prepare food for the homeless
• Organize a food, clothing, or school supply drive

Please join us in congratulating the JSSA Hospice and Transitions volunteer program for winning the prestigious Marriott Spirit to Serve Community Service Award. The 90 volunteers who visit seriously ill and terminally ill patients each week in this program are caring people indeed and we are proud to share in honoring their work in our community. Mazel tov!
