Description: The Greater Washington Area Chapter of Hadassah seeks a full-time Chapter Director responsible for overseeing and executing all projects and functions of the Chapter in coordination with the Chapter President, Executive Committee and the Chapter Board members.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Promoting, overseeing and organizing all Chapter events in programs in coordination with the Chapter President and the Event/Program Chairs
• Develop marketing and fundraising campaigns in conjunction with the key Chairs and the President
• Develop an annual plan and budget in coordination with the President, Treasurer and the Budget Committee
• Direct cost effective operation of the office including: the recruiting/selection, training/development, and performance/salary review of individuals ensuring qualified staff; the purchase of equipment/supplies; and the establishment of all policies and procedures to effect the efficient operation
• Create, maintain, and implement, with the Chapter President, internal and external calendar of events and deadlines
• Access educational materials and resources, working with Chairs, from within and outside local community
• Attend Chapter Board, Executive, Budget and Personnel Committee meetings providing continuity and stability and acting as a resource in a non voting capacity
• Collaborate and coordinate with National office on successful implementation of Hadassah’s policies, procedures and guidelines
• Effectively direct the coordination of volunteers and staff activities for achieving increased membership development, greater visibility in the community and better donor contributions

Desired Education Degree/Level: Bachelor's
Jewish Education: College graduate or equivalent experience required with some post-graduate preferred – Helpful courses: Non-profit Management, Business, Jewish History and Jewish Studies
Prior Experience: • Minimum 2-3 years work of supervisory experience in non-profit or corporate environment
• Financial oversight and experience with financial processes
• Experience with database management
• Experience with community based and American Jewish organizations and agencies
Other: • Outstanding management, supervisory, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to plan with and motivate staff with strong organizational skills
• Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and Outlook, database and fundraising software and working knowledge of QuickBooks
• Extremely helpful: Basic knowledge of Israel’s economy, health, education and environment
