Adas Israel's Lifelong Learning Programs Adas Reads and Brunch and Learn present a special kick-off event with guests Thomas Friedman, three-time Pulitzer Prize winning columnist for the New York Times, and Laura Blumenfeld, national reporter for The Washington Post and author of the NYT best-seller, Revenge: A Story of Hope. Friedman and Blumenfeld will discuss the influence of revenge on international affairs.
Revenge is this year’s book selection for Adas Reads. Revenge is the story of a terrorist attack on the author’s father and her search for the perfect revenge. Traveling to Iran, Albania, Sicily and other revenge capitals, Blumenfeld soaks up the stories and wisdom from avengers the world over, as she plots to infiltrate the shooter’s life. Described as a "passionate gripping . . . work of ambition and humanity" by The Washington Post, Revenge was excerpted by The New Yorker, featured in People magazine, translated into eight languages, and named one of the best books of the year by The New York Times.
A national correspondent for The Washington Post, Blumenfeld has also written for The New Yorker, the New York Times Magazine, and The Los Angeles Times. She has appeared on Charlie Rose, Oprah, The Today Show, and the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer.
